Women’s Cricket Team to receive Rs 1 Million for World Cup Qualification

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s U19 Women’s Cricket Team is set to receive a cash prize of Rs 1 million from the eight franchises of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) in recognition of their remarkable achievement.
The franchises collectively announced the reward to celebrate the team’s qualification for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.
Earlier, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) had pledged Rs 250,000 to each player as an incentive.
On Wednesday, Nepal secured their spot in the World Cup by defeating the UAE by eight wickets in the final match of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 Asia Qualifier, held in the UAE.
The tournament is scheduled to take place in January 2025 in Malaysia.
Additionally, the U19 women’s team will compete in the ACC U19 Women’s Asia Cup, set to begin on Dec 15 in Malaysia.
