Prakash Bhujel’s license found; detention extended by 5 more days

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has granted a five-day extension in custody Prakash Bhujel for further investigation following his involvement in a fatal road accident.

The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon on the Sankhu-Thali road section in Shankharapur Municipality-9, Indrayani.
Bhujel was driving a car with license plate number Ba 19 Cha 2695, heading from Thali toward Sankhu, when it struck a motorcycle with plate number Bagmati State 02-018 Pa 6875.
The motorcycle driver, 38-year-old Narayan Nagarkoti from Kageshwari Manohara-2, died from the impact.
Narayan’s wife, 32-year-old Sanumaya Nagarkoti, who was a pilion rider, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
Authorities also noted that Bhujel’s driver’s license was not found on him at the scene.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the police have requested a copy of his license from the Department of Transport Management.
