KATHMANDU: The Nepal U-19 women’s cricket team was warmly welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Thursday following their qualification for the 2025 ICC U-19 Women’s World Cup.
National Sports Council (NSC) member-secretary Tankalal Ghising and Cricket Association Nepal (CAN) secretary Paras Khadka, along with other officials, greeted the team upon their arrival.
Earlier, the Cricket Association of Nepal announced a cash reward of Rs 250,000 per player for their achievement.
The Nepal team secured their World Cup spot by defeating the host UAE in the Asia qualifiers on Wednesday. They will compete in Group ‘D’ of the tournament, scheduled for January-February in Malaysia.
Nepal will face Australia, Bangladesh, and Scotland in their group. A total of 16 teams will participate, with the top two from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.
