Women’s team to receive Rs 250,000 cash reward for World Cup qualification
Each player will receive Rs 250,000, while team officials will be awarded Rs 150,000 each.
KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced a cash reward for each member of Nepal’s U-19 women’s cricket team, who recently qualified for the ICC U-19 Women’s World Cup.
Each player will receive Rs 250,000, while team officials will be awarded Rs 150,000 each.
CAN congratulated the team on their outstanding achievement and revealed this reward as a token of appreciation.
Nepal qualified for the World Cup by defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by eight wickets in the final match of the ICC U-19 Women’s World Cup Asia Qualifier, held in the UAE on Wednesday.
The World Cup tournament will take place in Malaysia in Jan 2025.
In addition to the World Cup, Nepal’s U-19 women’s team will also participate in the ACC U-19 Women’s Asia Cup, scheduled for Dec 15 in Malaysia.
The Asia Cup will feature six teams: Nepal, India, and Pakistan in Group A, while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia are in Group B, according to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
