Nepal U-19 Women’s cricket team returning home today
Nepal qualified for the U-19 Women's T20 World Cup by defeating UAE by eight wickets in the final match.
KATHMANDU: The Nepal U-19 women’s cricket team, which has secured spots in the 2025 ICC Women’s U-19 World Cup and the Asia Cup in Malaysia, is returning home today.
The team is expected to arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport at 6:15 PM, as confirmed by Cricket Association Nepal (CAN) spokesperson Chumbi Lama, who also mentioned that arrangements are in place to welcome the team at the airport.
Nepal qualified for the U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup by defeating UAE by eight wickets in the final match of the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Out of the six matches in the Asia Qualifier, Nepal won five and lost one. The team will next compete in the ACC U-19 Women’s Asia Cup, scheduled to start in Malaysia on Dec 15.
The Asia Cup will feature six teams, including Nepal, India, and Pakistan in Group A, and Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia in Group B. Nepal will face Pakistan on January 1 and India on Dec 17.
