KATHMANDU: Police have released Nawaraj Aryal of Gorkha, who gave a misleading interview in the rape and murder case of 13-year-old girl Nirmala Panta from Kanchanpur Mahendranagar.

He was arrested on Wednesday on charges of giving an interview in a way that spread misleading information in the Nirmala Panta case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) has released Nawaraj Aryal of Gorkha, who gave a misleading interview.

The police had also questioned the journalist Rishi Dhamala, who conducted the interview.

The police said that an agreement was reached to delete the interview. The police had called Aryal after he gave a statement that he had seen Nirmala being raped.

Similarly, the CIB had also questioned the journalist Rishi Dhamala, who conducted the interview with Aryal.

Dhamala had promised to delete the interview. Nirmala Panta was raped and murdered on 26 July , 2018.
