KATHMANDU: A case has been filed against members of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), including lawmakers and central committee members, for contempt of court.

The petition was filed at the Supreme Court for their actions against the court’s authority.

Rabi Lamichhane, the President of the party, is currently in police custody in connection with a cooperative scam case.

He is under investigation for charges including cooperative fraud and organized crime.

While the investigation into Lamichhane is ongoing, lawyer Anupam Bhattarai filed the petition at the Supreme Court, alleging that they attempted to influence the court by holding protests, making statements, and inciting the public to obstruct the judicial process.

The case has been scheduled for a hearing on the Nov 18.
