KATHMANDU: Police have arrested Nawaraj Aryal of Gorkha for spreading false information in a television interview about the rape and murder of 13-year-old Nirmala Panta from Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur.
Following the broadcast of Aryal’s statement, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police interrogated him on Tuesday and subsequently released him on bail.
For further investigation, the CIB is also questioning Aryal couples, along with the host of Prime Time Television, Rishi Dhamala, according to CIB Information Officer, Superintendent of Police Hobindra Bogati.
“All the claims made by Aryal on television are false,” Superintendent Bogati stated. “We have summoned Aryal, his spouse, and the host Rishi Dhamala for further questioning.”
