Indian Army Chief Dwivedi to visit Nepal on Nov 20
During his visit, General Dwivedi will pay tribute at the martyrs' memorial in the Army Pavilion, receive a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Army Headquarters, and hold official talks with General Sigdel.
KATHMANDU: India’s Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, is set to visit Nepal from Nov 20 for five days, following an invitation from Nepal’s Chief of Army Staff, General Ashok Raj Sigdel.
During his visit, General Dwivedi will pay tribute at the martyrs’ memorial in the Army Pavilion, receive a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Army Headquarters, and hold official talks with General Sigdel.
The Nepali Army’s Public Relations Directorate announced that the Indian General will also engage with student officers at the Army Command and Staff College in Shivapuri and visit the Western Divisional Headquarters in Pokhara.
A key highlight of the visit will be the conferral of the Honorary Rank of General of the Nepali Army on General Dwivedi by the President of Nepal.
Additionally, he will meet with Nepal’s Prime Minister and Defence Minister, further reinforcing the strong diplomatic and military ties between the two countries.
