PM Oli attends first graduation ceremony of Karnali Health Science Institute

A total of 58 students, who have completed their studies in Public Health, Nursing, and Medical Science at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, will be receiving their degrees during the ceremony.

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has arrived to participate in the first graduation ceremony of the Karnali Health Science Institute.

A total of 58 students, who have completed their studies in Public Health, Nursing, and Medical Science at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, will be receiving their degrees during the ceremony.

The event was initially scheduled for Sept 8.

In addition to the Prime Minister, other key figures attending the ceremony include Health and Population Minister Pradeep Poudel, Vice Chair of the Medical Education Commission Professor Dr. Anjani Kumar Jha, Director of the Center for Primary Care and Systems Strengthening at the Hardware Medical College in the United States, Kristin Messenger, and the Institute’s Academic Director, Dr. Double Bahadur Dhami.

Dr. Dhami mentioned, “Out of the graduates, 38 have completed their BPHE, 13 have completed MBBS, and three students are graduating from the MDGP program. Additionally, one student has completed MD in Anesthesia and one in Pediatrics, making a total of 58 students eligible for graduation.”

After the ceremony, Prime Minister Oli will also inaugurate the academic building of the institute. Administrative Officer Amrit Bahadur Bhandari highlighted that the Karnali Health Science Institute has been playing a significant role in the fields of health services, health education, and research.

Following the graduation event, a Senate meeting will take place to discuss future plans and activities of the institute.
