KATHMANDU: In the ongoing ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Nepal will play its final match today.
Nepal will face the host team, UAE, at 3:15 PM Nepali time at the Seven Stadium in Ajman, UAE.
This is Nepal’s sixth and final match in the Asia Qualifiers, which began on Nov 6. So far, Nepal has played five matches, winning four and losing one.
In the opening match, Nepal defeated Thailand by 67 runs. In the second match, Nepal won by 108 runs against Kuwait.
In the third match, Nepal faced UAE but lost by 13 runs.
In the fourth match on Sunday, Nepal defeated Thailand by 106 runs, and in the fifth match on Tuesday, Nepal defeated Kuwait by 165 runs.
The qualifiers feature four teams: host UAE, Nepal, Kuwait, and Thailand. UAE, having played five games, remains undefeated with five wins.
UAE tops the table with 10 points, while Nepal is in second place with 8 points. Thailand is in third place with 2 points, and Kuwait is at the bottom with no points.
The top team in the qualifiers will secure a spot in the 2025 Women’s U-19 World Cup in Malaysia.
To qualify, Nepal must win today’s match against UAE and surpass them in the net run rate.
