Legal action is set to be taken against the RSP leaders and parliamentarians involved in these street protests.
KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) president Rabi Lamichhane has been in custody for 26 days following his arrest in connection with a cooperative fraud case.
Today, Tuesday, he was transferred to Rupandehi for further investigation, where he is currently providing a statement at the government attorney’s office.
Meanwhile, RSP leaders and supporters have been protesting in the streets.
From party members to central committee members, RSP representatives have been actively demonstrating in support of Rabi.
Legal action is set to be taken against the RSP leaders and parliamentarians involved in these street protests.
The Supreme Court has authorized the registration of a contempt of court case against leaders participating in the demonstrations.
The order came from a bench led by Justice Binod Sharma, directing that the previously rejected petition be officially registered.
Judge Sharma’s directive overturns the earlier dismissal of the petition, thereby opening the door for contempt of court proceedings against RSP leaders involved in the protests.
