Qatar Airways launches first commercial flight to GBIA
Going forward, Qatar Airways will operate a regular flight on the Doha–Bhairahawa–Kathmandu–Doha route.
KATHMANDU: Qatar Airways has officially launched commercial flights from Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa as of today.
An Airbus A330 operated by Qatar Airways landed at the airport this afternoon, marking the airline’s first commercial landing at the new international airport.
Pratap Babu Tiwari, the General Manager of Tribhuvan International Airport, confirmed that Qatar Airways successfully completed its inaugural commercial flight to Gautam Buddha Airport with the Airbus A330.
Going forward, Qatar Airways will operate a regular flight on the Doha–Bhairahawa–Kathmandu–Doha route.
The airline has received authorization from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal to operate flights to Gautam Buddha Airport until Nov 30.
With Qatar Airways joining, Gautam Buddha International Airport now hosts five international airlines.
Previously, Nepal Airlines, Fly Dubai, Thai AirAsia, and Jazeera Airways had already begun operations at this airport.
