KATHMANDU: Deepak Manange (Rajeev Gurung), a member of the Gandaki State Assembly and former minister, has been sentenced to prison and sent to Dillibazar Jail.
He was found guilty of the crime of murder and has been convicted to five years in prison.
On Nov 5, the Supreme Court upheld the decision of the Patan High Court, which had sentenced Manange to five years of imprisonment for the crime.
He is required to serve a sentence of two years, four months, and one day.
Manange, who was arrested from the small hilltop area of Sano Bharyang in Kathmandu, was presented by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) before the Kathmandu District Court for the execution of the verdict.
