KATHMANDU: Members of the Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Federation (SMEF) of Nepal have departed for China to participate in the International Sisme Fair in Guangzhou.
SMEF Chair Inu Poudel informed that Nepal will set up 32 stalls at the fair. A total of 36 entrepreneurs from Nepal will be attending the event.
Poudel emphasized that such fairs provide an opportunity to assess the quality of products made in Nepal and facilitate their commercialization. She mentioned that the stalls will feature Nepali products, including pashmina, statues, thangka paintings, and tea leaves.
She said, “We are heading to the International Sisme Fair with the support of the Chinese government, which has provided us with these stalls. We will be bringing 32 stalls and 36 participants. We will showcase Nepali-made pashmina, statues, thangka, and tea. I urge the organization to provide concessions during such events. If goods are transported and stockpiled there, there should be facilitation. This will help Nepali products reach international markets, enhance Nepal’s reputation, and strengthen the Nepal-China relationship.”
Poudel also noted that international trade fairs are a great platform to market Nepali products and expand their reach in the global market.
The fair will be held from Nov 15 to 18.
