Yangten Lama wins hold at USA Int’l Karate Championship

KATHMANDU: Yangten Lama has won the gold medal in the USA International Karate Championship, held on Nov 10 in Brooklyn, New York.

Representing the Champions Martial Arts Club, Yangten triumphed in the boys’ Kumite category for ages 10 to 11 in the Black Belt Advanced category.

He secured his victory in the finals by defeating Nick Spencer.

Yangten competed under the guidance of his coach, Sunil Lama, who is a gold medalist in karate from the 11th South Asian Games (SAG) and also serves as the director of Champions Martial Arts Club.

This club has branches in both the United States and Nepal.
