State Assembly issues notice on Former Minister Adhikari’s arrest
KATHMANDU: The Koshi State Assembly Secretariat published a notice on Monday regarding the arrest of State Assembly Member and former Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Lilaballabh Adhikari.
The notice, signed by Acting Secretary of the Koshi State Assembly, Gautam Raj Amatya, stated, “A warrant was issued against Adhikari by the Kathmandu District Court on charges related to forgery and human trafficking. Adhikari has been detained and presented at the District Police Office in Kathmandu for further investigation. This notice has been published under Rule 190, Sub-rule (2) of the State Assembly Regulations, 2074, as per the order of the Honorable Speaker.”
On Sunday, the Kathmandu District Court granted a two-day detention for Adhikari, who was arrested for allegedly preparing fake documents to facilitate the travel of three individuals to Japan.
On Oct 30, three people from Nepal, Dawa Sherpa (36) and Janak Rai from Khotang, and Kanchan Devkota (22) from Rasuwa, were deported from Tokyo Airport along with Adhikari.
