Maoist party directs unity for winning candidates in by-election
A meeting of the party's leadership, held at the residence of party president Pushpa Kamal Dahal in Khumaltar on Monday, issued this directive.
KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Centre) has directed its members to take proactive steps and work in unity to ensure the victory of the party’s candidates in the upcoming by-election scheduled for Dec 1.
A meeting of the party’s leadership, held at the residence of party president Pushpa Kamal Dahal in Khumaltar on Monday, issued this directive.
The party spokesperson, Agniprasad Sapkota, confirmed that the recommendations received from various provincial and district levels for the by-election candidates have been approved.
Sapkota stated that the party has decided to implement well-planned programs aimed at achieving success in the by-election. He added that the party will complete the municipal-level conference by the end of December and will simultaneously launch a broad, comprehensive, and effective public outreach program.
He further mentioned, “We have approved all the recommendations received for the by-election and have urged party members to unite and take the initiative to ensure the victory of our candidates. A well-planned program has been developed for success in the by-election. The municipal conference will be completed by the end of December, and we will combine the conference with public awareness campaigns. We will conduct a large-scale, organized, and effective public outreach program.” A central committee meeting will also be held on Dec 17.
Sapkota criticized the current government, accusing it of moving forward with actions that go against the public’s interest.
The leadership also decided to convene a central committee meeting on Dec 17.
