Niraula & Pandey approved for Supreme Court judges
The Parliamentary Hearing Committee, in its meeting held on Friday at Singha Durbar, approved the names of the proposed judges, Niraula and Pandey.
KATHMANDU: The names of the proposed Supreme Court judges, Nripdhwaj Niraula and Nityanand Pandey, have been approved.
The Parliamentary Hearing Committee, in its meeting held on Friday at Singha Durbar, approved the names of the proposed judges, Niraula and Pandey.
The decision to approve the names of both judges was based on their qualifications, capabilities, and experience, as shared by senior committee member Pashupati Shamser Jabara.
He stated, “In accordance with the Joint Meeting and Joint Committee Operational Procedures, 2080, and the Parliamentary Hearing Committee’s Procedures 2080, the committee, after hearing, decided to approve the names of Nripdhwaj Niraula and Nityanand Pandey for appointment to the Supreme Court as judges, based on their qualifications, capabilities, and experience, as per Subsection 5 of Rule 26 of the same procedures.”
After the approval by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee, the proposed judges will be appointed by the President, following the constitutional provisions.
