SCT & SmartCard Nepal sign MoU for Smart QR payment service
With this agreement, MyPay Wallet users will be able to load their wallets and make payments to merchants via Smart QR.
KATHMANDU: SmartChoice Technologies Ltd. (SCT), an authorized payment system operator by Nepal Rastra Bank, and SmartCard Nepal (MyPay Wallet), a payment service provider, have signed an agreement to operate a payment service through “Smart QR.”
With this agreement, MyPay Wallet users will be able to load their wallets and make payments to merchants via Smart QR.
Additionally, businesses across various sectors can now accept payments through the Smart QR system.
The Smart QR code, compliant with the internationally recognized EMV standards, will be the first interoperable QR code in Nepal, issued under the country’s national QR standard.
The agreement was signed at an event held at the headquarters of SmartChoice Technologies Ltd., with CEO Manoj Ghimire representing SCT and CEO Manoj Mehta representing MyPay.
With Smart QR transactions, funds will be instantly credited to the merchant’s account, making transactions more efficient for both MyPay Wallet users and merchants, promising greater convenience in business operations.
