Pakistan beat Australia
Both Pakistan openers played excellent innings.
KATHMANDU: Pakistan has defeated Australia in the second ODI, successfully chasing down a target of 164 runs set by Australia.
Pakistan completed the target in just 26.3 overs, losing only one wicket.
Both openers for Pakistan played brilliant knocks. Opener Saim Ayub was the top scorer, contributing 82 runs from 71 balls, including 6 sixes and 5 fours.
His partner, Abdullah Shafique, also played an excellent innings, remaining unbeaten on 64 from 69 balls.
Former captain Babar Azam came in at number three and scored 15 runs off 20 balls.
Australia’s bowlers were helpless against Pakistan’s batsmen.
Apart from spinner Adam Zampa, who claimed 1 wicket, no other Australian bowler was able to take a wicket.
Earlier, Australia’s batting performance was subpar.
For Australia, Steve Smith scored 35, Matt Short made 19, and Adam Zampa contributed 18 runs, but no other batter made a significant impact.
Pakistan’s Haris Rauf was the standout bowler, claiming 5 wickets, which devastated Australia’s batting lineup.
Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi took 3 wickets, while Mohammad Hasnain and Nasim Shah each took 1 wicket.
