Energy State Minister Tamang’s own company blacklisted
Two companies have been blacklisted for two and a half years, two others for two years, three companies for one and a half years, and another six companies for one year.
KATHMANDU: Energy State Minister Purna Bahadur Tamang and over a dozen construction companies have been blacklisted.
The Public Procurement Monitoring Office, operating under the Prime Minister’s Office, blacklisted more than a dozen companies, including Kanchharam Construction, associated with Minister Tamang.
Two companies have been blacklisted for two and a half years, two others for two years, three companies for one and a half years, and another six companies for one year.
Among those blacklisted are Kanchharam Construction, with Congress leader and Energy State Minister Tamang as the principal person; N.B. Construction, led by Ramila Lama; The Kanchanjunga Construction, headed by Tendi Sherpa; and Biruwa Construction, with Subit Shrestha as the main person, all blacklisted for two and a half years.
These companies were recommended for blacklisting by the Federal Road Supervision and Monitoring Office based in Tumlingtar and Butwal.
Similarly, BG Construction Service Pvt. Ltd. in Pokhara, led by Buddhi Man Gole, was blacklisted following the recommendation from the Naukund Rural Municipality Office in Rasuwa.
In Ilam, Pooja Construction of Dhankuta, headed by Gajendra Prasad Poudel, and Sah Construction Service in Inaruwa, led by Jaiprakash Sah Halwai, were blacklisted following recommendations from the Federal Road Supervision and Monitoring Office.
These companies were blacklisted due to unsatisfactory performance on contracted projects.
Blacklisted companies are prohibited from participating in any procurement processes with public entities during the blacklisting period.
