KATHMANDU: The Kaski District Court has extended the custody of Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RASP) and former Home Minister, for an additional 10 days to continue the investigation.

The decision was made by Judge Chandrakant Poudel’s bench on Tuesday.

According to Suraj Adhikari, the information officer at the Kaski District Court, the judge has allowed Lamichhane to remain in custody for further investigation.

The second extension of his custody was granted after the initial extension ended on the 15th of Kartik (Oct 31), and now Lamichhane will remain in custody until Kartik 25th (Nov 10).

Earlier, the court had granted a 6-day and then a 7-day extension for the investigation.

Lamichhane was arrested by the police from the central office in Bansthali on Kartik 2nd (Oct 18th).

Since his arrest, the Rastriya Swatantra Party has been staging protests on the streets in response to his detention.
