Supreme Court to remain open during Tihar holidays

KATHMANDU: During the Tihar holiday, the Supreme Court of Nepal will remain open for hearings on habeas corpus petitions, except on Bhai Tika and Saturday.

The Supreme Court administration has announced that the court will operate from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the remaining days of the festival.

The notification issued by the Supreme Court administration states, “In observance of the Tihar festival of 2081 B.S., the Supreme Court will remain closed from Kartik 15 to 19. However, as per Section 26 of the Justice Administration Act, 2073, the court will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., excluding Saturday and Bhai Tika, for hearing habeas corpus petitions.”
