Bomb threat on Kathmandu-Delhi Air India flight prompts security check

KATHMANDU: Security personnel have begun inspecting an Air India flight (AIG-216) scheduled to depart from Kathmandu to Delhi after receiving information about a potential explosive device on board.

According to SSP Dambar BK of the Airport Security Office, a tip-off about a bomb was received at around 3:15 PM, just as the flight was preparing for takeoff.

This led both police and army officials to initiate a thorough search of the aircraft.
