Nepal defeats Saudi Arabia in Table Tennis

Competing in the event at the Isa Sports City Hall 'B', Nepal triumphed with a score of 4–1 in the match for the 9th to 13th positions.

KATHMANDU: In a recent table tennis match at the ISF Gymnasiade held in Manama, Bahrain, Nepal’s women’s team achieved a remarkable victory against Saudi Arabia.

Competing in the event at the Isa Sports City Hall ‘B’, Nepal triumphed with a score of 4–1 in the match for the 9th to 13th positions.

With this win, Nepal is set to face Uganda One on Monday for a chance to secure a spot between 9th and 10th place. If they win this upcoming match, they will advance; however, if they do not, Nepal will finish in 11th place.

During the group stage of the women’s team event, Nepal faced tough competition from England, Azerbaijan, Italy, and Chinese Taipei.

Unfortunately, the team lost to England 4–3, Azerbaijan 5–2, Italy 5–2, and Chinese Taipei 7–0.

The players representing Nepal in the women’s team include Ivana Thapa, Bianka Rai, Malsa Nepal, and Bidwisa Mainali.

Additionally, Nepal will also participate in the singles competition for women, with Jevish Burlakoti and Aaashish Mahat competing in the men’s singles category.
