KATHMANDU: NIC Asia Capital Limited has been conducting various programs under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives since its inception.

Continuing its commitment, the company organized an Investor Awareness and Financial Literacy Interactive Program in Dedeldhura, Sudurpaschim State, on the occasion of Global Investor Week 2024.

The program, held on Friday, Oct 25, aimed to raise financial awareness among students, professionals, and the general public in the Amaragadhi-5 region of Dedeldhura.

During the session, Mr. Damodar Rayamajhi, Chief Merchant Banking Officer of NIC Asia Capital, provided comprehensive insights into Demat accounts, primary shares, secondary market securities, money market instruments, and mutual funds. Mr. Rayamajhi also explained how and when to invest in companies listed on the secondary market, along with important considerations for making informed investment decisions.

Attendees engaged in discussions on the current status of the capital market, allowing for an enriching interactive experience.

The event also featured Mr. Kishor Bhatt, an official from CDS and Clearing Limited, who shared details on CDS and Clearing’s services and offered guidance on safely accessing these services.

He addressed recent issues encountered during share transactions and clearing processes, facilitating a better understanding of securities trading.

The program was conducted in two phases. The first session, held from 11:45 AM to 1:15 PM, was specifically for students and saw participation from over 55 young students eager to learn about financial literacy. The second session, held from 3:00 PM to 4:45 PM, was tailored for professionals and the general public, attracting over 75 participants.

The event concluded successfully, marking another milestone in NIC Asia Capital’s ongoing commitment to financial literacy and investor awareness in Nepal.
