KATHMANDU: Two foreign nationals, a tourist and a pilgrim, have died today in separate incidents in Mustang. An American tourist was found dead in Thasarang Rural Municipality-2 Thangsar, while an Indian pilgrim passed away in Varagung Muktichhetra Rural Municipality-1 Muktinath, according to the District Police Office.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Surya Bahadur Bogati reported that 63-year-old American national Milo Golsegger was found unconscious in his room at Holiday Camp Hotel in Thangsar. He was taken to Jomsom Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

In another incident, 69-year-old Sharada Mahadev Lagade from Andheri West, Versova, Mumbai, India, fainted and fell while returning from a pilgrimage at Muktinath Temple. She was rushed to Jomsom Hospital, where doctors also pronounced her dead, according to DSP Bogati.

The bodies of both deceased have been kept at Jomsom Hospital for autopsy, and further investigation is underway.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Golsegger may have died due to suffocation from a water heater in his bathroom, while Lagade’s death might have been due to altitude sickness.
