Former member secretary of NSC, Rana, passes away

KATHMANDU: Sushil Shamsher JB Rana, the former member secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC), has passed away at the age of 91.

His last rites were performed today at Pashupati Aryaghat with final tributes, as confirmed by Khushraj Dahal, the chief of the NSC’s public relations department.

The tribute ceremony was attended by various departmental heads of the NSC, including Prem Bahadur Malla and Saroj Pokhrel, among others.

JB Rana served as the second member secretary of the NSC, contributing to Nepal’s sports sector for six years, from 2017 to 2024.

He was the founding Chair of the Nepal Badminton Association and was currently serving as the honorary Chair, as stated by the association’s Chair, Ramji Bahadur Shrestha.

The National Sports Council expressed its sorrow over JB Rana’s passing and extended condolences to the grieving family.
