KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Administration Office has called on everyone to celebrate upcoming festivals in an orderly and respectful manner.

In a notice issued today, Assistant Chief District Officer Anil Paudel of Kathmandu urged the public not to engage in disruptive behavior, such as causing public disturbances, fighting, or consuming alcohol in a way that violates social order, dignity, and peace during the festive season.

The office also emphasized the importance of refraining from illegal activities such as gambling, playing prohibited games like “Langur Burja (dice),” and using fireworks, explosives, or flammable materials that could cause disasters or environmental pollution. It called on people not to transport, sell, or distribute such items.

“Those involved in activities prohibited by law will be subject to legal action,” the notice stated.

The administration urged everyone to celebrate festivals such as Tihar and Chhath in a dignified manner and asked the public to report any activities that go against these guidelines to the police.
