KATHMANDU: Police have fired tear gas at activists of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

The activists became more agitated after the court extended party president Rabi Lamichhane’s custody by seven more days in connection with a cooperative fraud case.

The police used tear gas after the protesters defied restrictions in a prohibited zone.

RSP activists participating in the protest chanted slogans like “Beware corrupt government,” “Justice cannot be suppressed,” and “Our movement continues.”
