BP Highway now open for 24-hour traffic operation

KATHMANDU: BP Highway will now operate 24 hours a day.

The Bhaktapur Road Division Office issued a public notice on Wednesday, announcing the round-the-clock operation of the highway.

Previously, the road was closed from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Oct 16 due to ongoing repair work in newly opened sections.

After continuous rainfall from Sept 26 to 28 triggered landslides and floods, over 8 kilometers of road between Bhakundebesi and Barsekhola were completely washed away.

A new track was opened for passenger vehicles, but risks remain along the highway.
