Pathao Nepal launches car rental service for travel across the country

KATHMANDU: Pathao Nepal, the country’s leading ride-sharing platform, has expanded its services by introducing ‘Pathao Car Rental.’

This new service allows customers to book taxis for both short and long trips across Nepal, providing flexibility for diverse travel needs.

The newly launched service, initially available in Kathmandu, enables users to book taxis registered under the ‘Pathao Car Lite’ category for a range of travel options, from short city rides to longer, more extensive trips across the country.

According to Suraksha Hamal, Director of Pathao Nepal, the service will soon be available for intercity travel, catering to those looking for more convenient options for long-distance travel or sightseeing excursions.

“This new service allows users to plan their travel in advance, offering the flexibility of booking a ride at least one hour before the trip or even up to seven days in advance. We want to make travel easier for our customers while also creating more earning opportunities for our drivers,” said Hamal.

The Pathao Car Rental service offers both ’round trip’ and ‘drop’ options, giving passengers the flexibility to choose whether they want the same vehicle and driver for the entire trip or simply for a one-way journey. This feature aims to simplify the travel experience for passengers while providing a seamless solution for longer-distance transportation needs.

To further enhance the customer experience, Pathao is offering insurance coverage for the duration of the rental, ensuring peace of mind for travelers. In addition, a 24-hour call center will be available to resolve any issues that may arise during the trip.

Bookings can be made through Pathao’s mobile app, where users can access all necessary trip details, including the driver’s information, route, and estimated travel costs.
