KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank Limited (GIBL) and Austria’s University of Innsbruck have signed an agreement under the Switch Asia Grant Program, with financial support from the European Union, to promote energy-efficient technologies and practices for sustainable housing construction through the Building Energy Efficiency in Nepal (BEEN) project.

The agreement was signed by Ashim Karmacharya, Head of Green and Sustainable Banking at GIBL, and Dr. Daniel Nair, Project Head of the BEEN project and representative from the University of Innsbruck, Austria.

GIBL has been implementing a special loan scheme called “Green Home Loan” to promote sustainable housing.

According to the bank, this agreement will help enhance technical capacity and support the promotion of sustainable and energy-efficient buildings.

Keeping customer convenience in mind, the bank has been introducing various timely schemes to benefit its clients.
