KATHMANDU: The All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (Revolutionary), affiliated with the CPN (Maoist Centre), has staged a protest against the CPN (UML), symbolically contributing Rs 1 towards its party office construction.

On Sunday, the revolutionary student organization held a symbolic protest in front of Nepal Law Campus to raise awareness about the alleged corruption associated with the CPN-UML.

During the demonstration, protesters collected symbolic donations of Rs 1 from the public to highlight their opposition.

The protesters chanted slogans such as “Land Mafia Prime Minister KP Oli,” “Rs 1 for the corrupt UML,” “Are you the people’s Prime Minister or a corrupt businessman?” and “Mahakali, it’s still not reached, Prime Minister—how much more corruption will you commit?”

The protest was sparked by a statement from Meen Bahadur Gurung, the owner of the Bhathbhetani Supermarket, who offered to fund the construction of the UML party office.

The All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (Revolutionary) responded by denouncing what they perceived as a corrupt deal.
