Manakamana Cable Car resumes service after maintenance work

KATHMANDU: The Manakamana Cable Car has resumed regular operations following a period of repair and maintenance.
According to Ujjwal Sherchan, Deputy Manager of Manakamana Darshan Pvt. Ltd., the service, which had been temporarily halted from October 15 to 17 for maintenance, is now back in operation.
During this downtime, the cable car underwent servicing, and the cables were tightened.
First launched on November 24, 1998, the Manakamana Cable Car was established to provide a convenient mode of transport for visitors to the famous Manakamana Temple, a revered shrine of the goddess located in Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality, Gorkha district.
The cable car’s base station is situated in Cheres, Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-4, Chitwan district.
