Opposition parties unite to submit memorandum to government (video)

KATHMANDU: The opposition parties, including the CPN (Maoist Centre), the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), and the CPN (UML), are set to submit a memorandum to the government.

In a meeting held today at the Lhotse Hall of the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor, the parties agreed to present the memorandum, which will include various issues concerning the public.

Unified Socialist leader Rajendra Pandey provided this information.

The meeting, called by Maoist Centre Chair and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, also decided to draw the government’s attention to matters related to preparedness for floods and landslides, as well as search, rescue, medical treatment, and rehabilitation efforts.

Maoist Centre leader Shakti Bahadur Basnet noted that the meeting discussed current issues. “There is a consensus to draw the government’s attention to public concern issues from the opposition parties and to present the memorandum,” Basnet said.

The meeting was attended by Unified Socialist Chair and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, leaders Mahant Thakur, Prabhu Sah, RSP President Rabi Lamichhane, and Deputy Chairpersons D.P. Aryal and Dr. Swarnim Wagley, along with party leaders Shishir Khanal, Sumana Shrestha, and Biraj Bhakta Shrestha.
