T20I Series: Nepal defeats USA

KAATHMANDU: Nepal defeated the host team, the United States, in the first match of the T20I series.

The game took place this morning at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Texas, where Nepal secured a 17-run victory over the USA.

Nepal, batting first, posted a total of 164 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, setting a target of 165 for the USA.

In response, the USA could only manage 147 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs.

Although USA’s Shayan Jahangir played an unbeaten knock of 60 runs, he could not lead his team to victory.

For the USA, Shayan remained unbeaten with 60 runs, Andres Ghaus contributed 30, Milind Kumar made 22, and Jasdeep Singh scored 16 runs. Captain Monank Patel and Aaron Jones were both dismissed for 3 runs each, while Sai Teja Mukkamalla was out for 2 runs.

Harmeet Singh was dismissed for a duck (LBW) by Dipendra Singh Airee. In Nepal’s bowling attack, Dipendra Singh Airee took 3 wickets, while Karan KC, Rijan Dhakal, and Gulshan Jha each claimed a wicket.
