KATHMANDU: The trailer for the Nepali film ‘Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi’ was unveiled at an event in Kathmandu on Thursday.
The movie features notable performances by actors Bijay Baral, Buddhi Tamang, Prakash Saput, and actress Anjana Baraily, showcasing the tradition of folk singing.
During the trailer launch, actor Bijay Baral expressed his excitement about portraying a singing character for the first time in a film.
While he has played similar roles in theater, he emphasized that this experience in cinema is new for him.
He remains optimistic that audiences will appreciate the film. Actress Baraily echoed his sentiments, expressing confidence that ‘Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi’ will resonate with many viewers.
The film narrates the struggles of a singing community to preserve the Sarangi culture. The 3-minute and 26-second trailer highlights their efforts to safeguard and pass down this tradition to future generations.
Directed by Saroj Paudel, the film is produced by Binod Paudel and Patrick Subedi. ‘Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi’ is set to be released on Oct 31 (Kartik 15).
