KATHMANDU: Recent floods caused by heavy rainfall have inflicted damages worth Rs 242.7 million in Harinagar Rural Municipality.

According to the District Administration Office, the sectors affected include education, health, physical infrastructure, and agriculture, accounting for the total losses.

In Harinagar, seven schools, six bridges, and roads have suffered partial damage, while crops planted on 900 bighas of land have been completely destroyed.

Crops on another 1,006 bighas of land have sustained partial damage.

Furthermore, 40 bighas of land have been rendered unusable, with another 55 bighas facing partial damage.

Three health posts have collapsed, and 25 livestock have perished, according to the office’s report.

Chief District Officer Ram Chandra Tiwari stated that the repair of the damaged infrastructure has already begun.
