Dadeldhura bus accident: Four, including infant, killed, 12 injured

KATHMANDU: Four people have died in a bus accident in Dadeldhura.

The bus (registration number Na 8 Kha 1078), which was traveling from Mahendranagar in Kanchanpur to Purchaudi in Baitadi, met with an accident on Tuesday night at a place called Khasrekhan in Amargadhi-7, according to Upendra Bahadur Bam, spokesperson and police inspector at the District Police Office, Dadeldhura.

The bus fell about 300 meters off the road.

Among the deceased are 22-year-old Sahadev Bohara, 20-year-old Kamala Bohara, her infant son, and 45-year-old Jayamati Bohara, all from Purchaudi Municipality-3.

Twelve other passengers were injured in the accident.

The injured include 24-year-old Navaraj Saud of Ward No. 7, 24-year-old Rajendra Saud of Ward No. 6, 42-year-old Padam Bohara of Ward No. 8, 24-year-old bus driver Birendra Bohara, 28-year-old Navaraj Ratouki of Ward No. 7, and 20-year-old Surendra Ratouki.

Additionally, Damodar Mahara and Dhanbahadur Mahara of Ward No. 10 of Purchaudi Municipality, 25-year-old Dinesh Saud of Krishna Municipality-4, 65-year-old Dhanmati Saud of Ward No. 5, and 21-year-old Mukund Bohara of Alital Rural Municipality-1, Dadeldhura, were injured.

The injured are being treated at Dadeldhura Hospital.

The police are conducting further investigations regarding the accident.
