Dashain holidays end, government offices reopen from today

KATHMANDU: All government offices are reopening today after the Dashain holiday granted by the government has come to an end.

The government had declared holidays starting from Ashwin 24 (Oct 10) in celebration of Bada Dashain.

With the reopening of offices today, the number of people returning to their workplaces from villages has increased.

Bada Dashain, however, will officially conclude tomorrow on the day of Kojagrat Purnima.

Meanwhile, the tradition of receiving Dashain tika continues today as well.

Many people, especially those living far from their families, observe the practice of applying tika until the day of Purnima.
