He had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to age-related health issues, where he passed away while undergoing treatment in the ICU.
Tata was a pivotal figure in India’s industrial landscape, serving as the chairman of Tata Group from 1991 to 2012. Under his leadership, the company expanded its global reach, completing key acquisitions such as Jaguar Land Rover and Corus Steel.
His tenure saw Tata Group’s revenue rise significantly, with a large portion coming from international operations.
In addition to his business achievements, Tata was renowned for his philanthropy, particularly through the Tata Trusts, which have supported initiatives in education, healthcare, and rural development.
He received several prestigious awards, including the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan.
