KATHMANDU: Around 100,000 people are leaving the Kathmandu Valley daily to celebrate Dashain.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabin Karki of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Office, the four main exit points from the valley have seen a significant increase in both vehicles and passengers.

For the past three days, an average of 100,000 people have departed from the valley each day. DSP Karki mentioned, “Compared to Sunday and Tuesday, the number of travelers on Monday and today has increased.” At the same time, an average of 30,000 people are entering the capital daily.

Although traffic congestion and passenger numbers have risen in areas like bus parks, Kalanki, Balkhu, Koteshwor, and Sitapaila, Karki stated that unlike last year, travelers are not experiencing long hours of waiting at exit points.

Currently, travelers are heading to their destinations via the Araniko Highway, Tribhuvan Highway, Prithvi Highway, and the Dakshinkali-Hetauda and Kanti Highways.
