Dudhpokhari’s former Chairperson Gurung passes away
Gurung, a resident of Kolki Bhanjyang in Dudhpokhari-5, died on the way to Bharatpur Hospital last night.
KATHMANDU: Chhupimaya Gurung, the former chairperson of Lamjung, Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality, has passed away after battling cervical cancer.
Gurung, a resident of Kolki Bhanjyang in Dudhpokhari-5, died on the way to Bharatpur Hospital last night, as confirmed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Nishant Shrivastava from the District Police Office.
According to Ramhari Nyaupane, a district member of the Nepali Congress, Gurung had undergone her second round of chemotherapy just five days ago.
Her condition was stable until Monday morning, but it deteriorated in the afternoon.
Sadly, she passed away en route to the hospital.
Elected as a candidate from the Nepali Congress in the local elections of 2074 BS, Gurung had been an active member of the party for a long time.
At the time of her passing, she served as a member of the Gandaki State Working Committee and the Central Committee of the Nepali Congress.
