KATHMANDU: With just three days remaining until Nepal’s major festival, Vijaya Dashami, people are eagerly preparing for the grand celebration.
This year, Dashain Tika will be observed on Saturday, Ashoj 26.
Many Nepalis living abroad are returning home, and those who have settled in urban areas are heading back to their villages.
As they return home, people are crowding marketplaces to buy new clothes, delicious food items, and gifts for their family members, including parents, siblings, and relatives.
In addition, people are shopping for other essential items needed for the Dashain festivities, causing an increase in the number of people out and about.
Several offices have already closed for the holiday, giving people time to visit the market and prepare for the festival.
Popular spots in Kathmandu like New Road, Asan, Boudha, and Ratna Park are seeing large crowds as people gear up for the celebration.
