Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank, in line with its policy of providing state-of-the-art, secure, and convenient digital banking services to its customers, has introduced the Visa 3D Secure facility.

This feature is aimed at enhancing the security of online transactions carried out through both Dollar and NPR cards.

With the launch of this facility, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank becomes the first development bank in Nepal to offer such an advanced service.

This new security layer will significantly improve the safety of customers’ online transactions by preventing the unauthorized use of their card details.

The bank has stated that each online transaction will now require authentication. Under this process, customers using their debit or credit cards for online transactions will receive a one-time password (OTP) via email or SMS for each transaction. Only after entering the OTP will the transaction be completed, ensuring added security.

According to the bank, this feature aligns with its vision of offering modern and secure digital services, giving customers confidence that their banking details are protected from unauthorized access.

The addition of Visa 3D Secure offers several key benefits:

  • Enhanced Security: With the need for transaction authentication, customers are better protected from online fraud.
  • Safe Financial Information: Customers’ financial details are kept secure, preventing unauthorized access and allowing them to transact with confidence.
  • Real-Time Authentication: Transactions are authenticated in real time, adding another layer of security.
  • Global Acceptance: Thousands of e-commerce websites worldwide accept Visa 3D Secure-enabled debit and credit cards, allowing customers to shop from anywhere at any time.
