Library inaugurated at school library building constructed with support from NIC Asia Bank
This library, built with the active participation of the school and local authorities, aims to provide essential educational materials to support teaching and create an excellent educational environment for students.
KATHMANDU: NIC Asia Bank has inaugurated a library at Shree Pabitra Secondary School in Bandipur Rural Municipality-1, Tanahun District, as part of its institutional social responsibility initiatives.
This library, built with the active participation of the school and local authorities, aims to provide essential educational materials to support teaching and create an excellent educational environment for students.
The library was formally inaugurated on 16th Ashwin, 2081 (October 2, 2024), and was attended by Surendra Bahadur Thapa, Chairperson of the local municipality, Shiva Kumar Shrestha, Chairperson of Ward No. 1, and Chudamani Parajuli, the bank’s Chief for Gandaki State-3, along with representatives from the school. With the establishment of this library, approximately 1,125 students and teachers at the school will benefit directly.
Previously, the bank had inaugurated libraries at several other schools, including Shri Mohanyal Secondary School in Joshipur Rural Municipality-1, Kailali District; Shree Adarsha Secondary School in Buddhashanti Rural Municipality-2, Jhapa District; and Shri Gaurigunj Secondary School in Gaurigunj Rural Municipality-3, Jhapa District.
Additionally, libraries have been established in the following schools:
- Shree Bala Sundari Secondary School, Bhagwanpur Rural Municipality-1, Siraha District
- Shree Siddhartha Secondary School, Birgunj Metropolitan City-14, Parsa District
- Shree Public Secondary School, Siyari Rural Municipality-4, Rupandehi District
- Shree Birendra Adarsha Secondary School, Ratn Municipality-7, Chitwan District
The bank has allocated a total budget of Rs 20,530,000 for the construction of these library buildings. With the completion of these libraries, more than 11,000 students enrolled in these schools will benefit directly.
The bank believes that by providing essential library management, students will have access to reading materials and other educational resources, significantly enhancing their educational quality and personal development.
