Rain possible during Dashain festival

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has announced the possibility of rain during the Dashain festival.

According to the department, the monsoon is expected to exit the country starting from Sunday, with indications that it may leave from the Sudurpashchim and Karnali States.

Meteorologist Pratima Manandhar stated that the monsoon is likely to exit within this week, and historically, light to moderate rainfall has occurred after the monsoon has departed.

“This time, the timing of the monsoon’s exit coincides with Dashain, and due to the influence of western winds and local weather patterns, there is a likelihood of light to moderate rain,” she noted.

Therefore, light to moderate rainfall is expected during this year’s Dashain festival.
