KATHMANDU: An attack in the southern Israeli city of Beersheba has left one woman dead and 10 others injured, according to police reports.

Officials stated that the attacker, who was wearing a bulletproof vest, opened fire at the central bus station in Beersheba. Authorities have launched a search for accomplices who may have helped the assailant reach the site of the attack.

Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency medical and blood service organization, confirmed that a 20-year-old woman died from gunshot wounds.

The attacker was shot by Israeli security forces and later pronounced dead at the scene.

Israeli state-owned Kan TV reported that the attacker was a resident of the Bedouin village of Hura, located in the Negev Desert.
